By any standard, the Roosevelts remain two of the most remarkable people to have inhabited the White House, he as one of greatest presidents ever and she as one of the greatest first ladies. Together, they forged a partnership without parallel in the nation's history.
The complex and unusual relationship between Franklin D. Roosevelt and his wife, Eleanor, had a tremendous influence on our country during a time of great crisis and beyond.

Dr. Cordery's love for following the trail of historical documents to see where it leads. Historian Stacy A. Cordery is the author of three books on the Roosevelts. She taught at East Carolina University after earning her Ph.D. in U.S. history in 1992. Now a full professor at Monmouth College, she teaches modern U.S. history, women's history, and interdisciplinary studies.
